What story I’m currently working on: Had a bit of a slowdown this week due to a busy last weekend plus a migraine that wouldn’t quit, but I’m still keeping up with the turtle version of NaNoWrimo, and I reached 37k today! To be fair, it’s Thanksgiving, so I’m going to grant myself that. I also did a little more with Forged Contracts, but ever since PAX Unplugged, I’ve had some other hobbies stealing my attention. Airship is unfolding at a good pace though, and I have a good idea of where the rest of the book will go!

What I’m editing/marketing: If you haven’t listened to the audio book for An Airship Named Desire, I recommend getting your time in now! A Tale of Two Airships will probably be out before the end of the year! Waiting on word from my editor for Forged Decisions, so cross your fingers and toes for me! My betas are continuing to progress through Musketeer Pirates and offering all of the critiques! Can’t wait to get cracking on those edits!

Teaser of the week:

“Because it took a stubborn technomancer willing to risk everything for those she cared about to remind me I was capable of a little daring too.”

Line of the week:

“So we’re assistants of Gregor Browning?” Isabella slipped an arm around Edwin’s shoulders, near causing the man to leap mid-air. “What is his specialty again?”

“Aether-thermodynamic thingamabob,” I jumped in, all of those fancy words of Edwin’s flying right out of my brain.

“Aetherdynamic manipulation,” Edwin said with a huff. He adjusted his glasses. “Really, Bea, I thought you were listening last night.”

I shrugged. “Maybe I’m just keeping you on your toes.”

_Her lips against his, the sun soaking into their skin, and the sweet, fragrant breezes that wafted through this isolated picnic area were nothing short of perfection._

Get your PAPERBACK copy today!

An invitation to Cupid’s Café will change your life.

After the incident that caused Liv Morozov to drop out of college, years later she’s still trying to pick up the pieces of her life. She’s managed to carve out a career for herself as a photographer, but when it comes to guys? Her issues send them running for the hills, every damn time.

Zane Parata has declared himself off-limits for relationships. Between trying to maintain sobriety and the long hours he works as a chef, no one wants to deal with his brand of damage, and he wouldn’t want to burden them in the first place.

When Liv shows up at Cupid’s Café, she never expected to find Zane, her brother’s former best friend who had vanished one day and never returned. The sparks that surged when they were both teens rekindle stronger than ever, and all too fast, Liv and Zane entangle in each other’s lives, breaking their own rules. Except with both struggling with the demons from their past, the love that’s begun to grow is one lapse away from shattering the two of them beyond repair.

What story I’m currently working on: The moral of this story is slow and steady wins the race. Rather than my normal binge efforts, I’ve been doing a steady pace of 1600 words a day since NaNo began, and it shows. I just hit 15k with The Airship Also Rises, and I’m moving forward at a steady speed, though I might have a couple rocky days ahead with general busy-ness. Omg guys. Writing Bea and the crew is just…my heart. The snark flies off the page. I could sit there and just write them arguing for 100 pages and be perfectly content.

What I’m editing/marketing: Since Captured Memories came out last month, I’ve got a wee break before Of Tinkers and Technomancers and A Reflection of Ice release! In the interim, I’m going to pound through Forged Decisions and get it sent in to my editor. By the time I report in next week, the book will be off! That’s a promise! (I’m really close) And my beta readers have started ripping apart Musketeer Pirates, so it’s perfect timing. Once I’m done with Forged Decisions, that also means I can start writing book three in the Tribal Spirits series, Forged Contracts.

Teaser of the week:

Wistful notes spoke of loneliness, as solitary as the final birdsong of autumn or the trill of summer_s last cicada before the wintry freeze.

Line of the week:

“You’re making a mistake,” said hapless bastard finally spoke up, his voice reedy and thin with fear. “If you try and turn me in, you’ll be making an enemy of the British crown.”

I couldn’t help it. I burst out laughing.

Every eye in the silent room stopped and stared at me as the laughs ripped from my throat, the deep, aching sort that welled up from the depths of my chest. Mordecai nudged the man forward down the aisle, closer and closer to Blackwind, entertaining a rueful grin of his own. Even Isabella let out a snort, a smile on her lips.

Out of anyone he could’ve threatened me with, the redcoats were the last on my list of concerns. They’d already taken our number the day we stole that Gods-damned box.

My shoulders still quaked as I wiped a couple tears from my eyes. “That ship’s already sailed, boy-o, but good of you for the heads up.”

What story I’m currently working on: Welp, I did it! I finished the YA fantasy novel before the end of October. This story was incredibly fun, and though I have a lot of work to do in regards to editing in the proper worldbuilding and ironing out some major inconsistencies, I think I’ve got the foundation for something amazing. So now I’m letting my brain rest for a couple days before I start into The Airship Also Rises come November 1st!

What I’m editing/marketing: Captured Memories is still getting rave reviews from the release last week, which is nice to see!! So with that out of the way, I can start the baby steps of prep (marketing images and such) for Of Tinkers and Technomancers and A Reflection of Ice! I’ve pretty much neglected edits on Forged Decisions because of the massive amounts of writing I was doing, but now I’ll be giving those content edits a look-see and trying to get the story ship shape. It doesn’t need drastic things thankfully, just pruning and fine tuning.

Teaser of the week:

_Each step forward offered a better view of the crystal walls ahead, the castle appearing like something out of a fairytale._

Line of the Week:

The sensible thing would be to run. Ditch the pirates, the guards, and sail away on a stolen boat to Damascar. A week ago, she would’ve done that without hesitation.

However, Katerina’s hope had infected her, Fiona’s drive inspired, and Lorne’s presence reminded her of what was worth fighting for. Salima clenched her jaw before nodding in response.

“Two of us against a horde of guards?” she cracked. “Couldn’t ask for better odds.”

He grinned back at her, lifted his pistol in the direction of all the chaos, and pulled the trigger. “Then let’s tango.”

What story I’m currently working on: Though I’m a wee bit behind, I’m still working as much as possible on this YA fantasy novel with high hopes of finishing it by the end of the month. I just hit 64k, which puts me at close to just 20k left to write in this…at least I hope, ha! In a shocking turn of events though, I have the rest of it plotted out, so at least the pathway is clear!

What I’m editing/marketing: Captured Memories is out!!!! Now I’ve got some time before my next releases, Of Tinkers and Technomancers and A Reflection of Ice! I’ve been in hardcore writing mode, so the editing has been excruciatingly slow, but I’m hoping to get Forged Decisions done by the end of November regardless. #goals. Besides, once that’s shipped off to Loose Id, I can begin writing Forged Contracts!

Teaser of the week:

_Her lips against his, the sun soaking into their skin, and the sweet, fragrant breezes that wafted through this isolated picnic area were nothing short of perfection._

Line of the week:

Instead, she’d curled up in the plush bed, pushed away the silken sheets, and clutched her knees to her chest, staring at the mottled slate walls. Her chest ached with a dull throb that wouldn’t leave, like a broken bone still trying to heal after far too long. Fiona was out there somewhere, waiting for her to show up, yet she never would. Her heart might’ve hurt at the thought before, but in the wake of what she’d seen in the chapel, Katerina had forgotten how to feel.

Cupid’s Cafe Series!

Cupid’s Cafe is an amazing multi-author series with After Glows Publishing, one I’m thrilled to be a part of tomorrow.

Book One: Exactly Like You by Lori Sizemore

35487282

An invitation to Cupid’s Café will change your life.

Former social worker Roxie Fisher believes she’s cursed to never find happiness and an invitation to Cupid’s Café isn’t going to change her situation. All the same, against her better judgment, she gives it a try. What else does she have to lose?

After the death of his wife, accountant-turned-firefighter Aidan Craig, can’t stop taking ridiculous risks and never turns down a dare. So an invitation to Cupid’s Café is an offer he can’t refuse. What he doesn’t expect is to meet the social worker who helped him through the darkest days of his life. Now she’s the one struggling, and he’s compelled to help.

The two experience an immediate attraction, but Aidan swore to never become involved in another relationship, and Roxie can’t imagine daredevil Aidan being interested in a boring, cat-rescuer like her.

Can Roxie find the simple joy of taking a risk? Is Aidan willing to risk his heart? Or will they both lose out on a chance at true love?

Book Two: Painting for Keeps by Landra Graf

35520143

An invitation to Cupid’s Café will change your life.

Agatha, Aggie, Kakos lost her boyfriend, her apartment, and now, is one brownie bite away from purging her binge when an invitation to Cupid’s Café shows up on her doorstep. Fighting bulimia and her mother’s constant verbal abuse has never been easy, but this nutritionist is determined to be stronger than her weakest link. She’ll meet a secret admirer at Cupid’s for a morale booster, if nothing else.

Following a break-in and the destruction of his paintings, starving artist Murphy O’Shea finds himself at wit’s end. Not only does he need to create twelve more paintings, but in the midst of another manic depressive episode, the challenge seems impossible. He’s got two months or he’ll have to cancel his first show. The Cupid’s Café invite offers him a chance to find his muse. He doesn’t expect it to be the woman he’s mirrored the past two years paintings on, nor does he plan on being able to offer Aggie the help she needs.

Can they find a way to conquer their inner demons or will they succumb to the idea they aren’t worth a happily ever after?

Book Three: Captured Memories by Katherine McIntyre

Captured Memories Excerpt!

Release day is two days away, but you can pre-order your copy now!!

_Her lips against his, the sun soaking into their skin, and the sweet, fragrant breezes that wafted through this isolated picnic area were nothing short of perfection._

This was a terrible plan.

Liv applied cherry red lipstick in her rearview mirror with the precision of experience, her brand of war paint to give her confidence today. By some miracle, a hangover hadn’t chased her into Tuesday, after the amount of whisky they swilled last night. She had needed all the liquid courage possible following her miserable date with Kyle-the-douche and the way the thought of today sent her into freak-out mode.

Still, she smoothed the surface of her navy blue cigarette pants and took a deep inhale. Her Converse might not be as stylish as a pair of pumps, but if she needed to move fast, she’d be able to bolt at a moment’s notice. She might feel safe sitting behind the wheel of her Subaru, but the idea of walking down Bardstown towards this café made her heart step in double time.

She tugged her black leather jacket from the back seat, more a security blanket than any sort of needed warmth since the temperature would climb with the hours. Liv refused to go anywhere without it even though the jacket had accumulated more patches and holes than was worth keeping. Ten years later, and she had never been able to let him go—not completely. He and this jacket remained in her memories as a reminder of a better time, before college had happened and she turned into this jaded mess.

Liv got out of the car.

What story I’m currently working on: Continuing on the YA fantasy novel, since I’m trying to complete my goal of finishing it by the end of October. Which means I’m setting a really aggressive pace of close to 2,000 words a day, with some exceptions. On the plus, I rocketed ahead to 51k, so I’m definitely making strides. I’ve passed the halfway point of the novel, where shit is really starting to reach a crescendo. I think it’s going to be the action-y stuff coming up soon, which should be intense.

What I’m editing/marketing: Forged Alliances came out three weeks ago and already I’m gunning ahead on the next one. Captured Memories comes out next Tuesday, and it’s already available for pre-order here! After that release, I can gasp for breath for a little while, because it’ll be a couple months before Of Tinkers and Technomancers and A Reflection of Ice come out! Seriously though, all of my crazy writing this year has paid off! My beta-readers got back to me for Forged Decisions and I’m working on that at a slow but steady pace. I’m hoping to get that accepted before the end of 2017!

Teaser of the week:

Line of the week:

“You need to leave,” Katerina spat, unable to hold back the tides any more. Staring at Fiona, the guilt and anger on the face that had once beamed with affection, it hurt. She hurt. She hurt worse than the nights she’d curled in her cot as a servant, muscles aching, wounds stinging from the lumps she’d taken. This sort of pain, this was standing in front of the stones marking the mounds of dirt that her parents had been buried under. Of speaking aloud to those graves year after year, and only getting the empty whistle of the wind as a response.

What story I’m currently working on: Well, the fantasy heist picked up steam. I am going to attempt the crazy and try to finish it before the end of October…we shall see…I polevaulted ahead to 40k this week, almost at the halfway point, so it just might be doable. I had an aggressive start, which was awesome, and ideally, I’d like to finish it so I can switch gears to The Airship Also Rises come November! (steampunk pun, hee!)

What I’m editing/marketing: Forged Alliances came out two weeks ago, but already I’m switching focus to the release coming up IN two weeks! Captured Memories is now available for pre-order here! Beyond that, you’ll have Of Tinkers and Technomancers and A Reflection of Ice to look forward to in the beginning of 2018, and I’m not stopping for a heartbeat. Gotta keep on, keepin on. I’ve begun diving into edits for Forged Decisions, and I have a good idea of where I want to go with that, so I’m excited to push them through. My hope is that Forged Decisions will be submission ready by the end of November!

Teaser of the week:

Lyra had been born in the cold, and in the stark of winter she thrived.

Line of the week:

How wrong she had been. The girl who stood before her was the same jagged glass personality, quick for a response and too blunt for her own good, but Weavers bless, she had a devoted heart that hadn’t changed. Once Fiona Blackwater got her talons into you, the woman would sail straight through a storm, torch a building, or even thrash the bitch who ran the serving quarters in retribution. Even when she’d gotten whipped out in the yard afterwards.
